Julius Caesar was a general of great ability. Born in 100 BC, He conquered Gaul, invaded Britain, and then defeated his Roman opponents in 48-46 BC, and was acclaimed Dictator for Life. It didn't last long, as he was cut down in the Senate on March 15, 44 BC.
