Lot No.11027. Roman bronze tweezers. Tweezers (vulsella in Latin) were made in bronze and used mainly for removing body hair. Depilation was quite fashionable amongst women at the time. This beautiful and well preserved roman bronze tweezers carries a beautiful decoration. It has an adjustable coiled band that is intended to be slid along the jaws and to hold the ends together. 73mm. 1st-3rd Century AD.
