Lot No.3441. Gold plated silver belt buckle with red glass cloissonne decoration in form of an eagle's head. ca 6th to 8th Century AD. Unpublished. Excellent condition. 65mm.

There is a small piece of missing metal on the underside where the leather belt was once attached by rivets.

The Ostrogoths were an eastern Germanic tribe, and much of their iconography has eagles.
